1. CAACME Annual Meeting The 2001 annual meeting was another success. We
shall thank all participants for their enthusiasm and participation.
About thirty
people had joined the CAACME annual meeting in Houston on March
13, 2001 during NACE 2001 Conference. Attendees include expert
from Canada, China, Singapore, Taiwan, and USA. During the meeting,
attendees
have shared the commonly interested topics and expectation for
CAACME. The attendees list of this meeting can be download from
CAACME website.
See you next year in Denver, Colorado during NACE
2002 between April
7 to 12, 2002! 2. Suggestions & Plan
We appreciate these generous suggestions from all members during
NACE 2001. The following suggestions give us a long-term goal for
CAACME.
1) Further enhance the communication through e-technology (email,
newsletter).
2) Prepare the Constitution and By-laws of CAACME.
3) Register CAACME as a non-profit organization in USA. The membership
fee and donation from individual and sponsor organization will be
tax-deductible.
4) Strengthen and balance the member services of CAACME in two
categories (1) technical-oriented services and (2) business-oriented
services.
Recent Plans:
1) Invite financial support from member vendors who wish to make
a donation to the association. This will be the seed fund for a
sustainable development of CAACME.
2) Establish banners ads and link to their home page within the
CAACME website.
3) Develop the CAACME step by step since our group is very small.
Call for enthusiastic volunteers.
Got an idea, please send to us! Want it comes reality,
let’s
work it out together.
3. Research/Development News
(write from CAACME Annual Meeting)
1) Prof. Wei Ke, member of Chinese Academy of Engineering,
introduced the fast development of Institute of Metal Research,
Chinese Academy
Society in the recent years. The current Institute has restructured
the original Institute of Metal Research and Corrosion Research
Institute together in Shenyang, China. This significant reform
is aimed at producing the best research in metal and corrosion
field. Prof. Ke is the director of Institute; Enhou Han is the associate
director. Prof. Han has been a visiting scholar in MIT for several
years. Then he returned to this institute to continue his research.
Both scholars are very active in the international corrosion
research.
2) Mr. Dongpei Li, manager of Import and Export Department of General
Research Institute for Non-ferrous Metals, introduced the significant
revolution of their institute in recent years. This institute becomes
an independent research enterprise and entered the stock market
last year. This institute has just founded a branch company WINCA,
USA. Winca will become a market partner/pioneer for this institute
in North America, Dr. Aaron Du, Executive Vice President of Winca
said. Dr. Du gave their gift to all attendees in this meeting. Thanks!
4. Member List The current total member of CAACME is about 120. What a small professional

out of this list. The member directory is available to download

This online list is only a trial. We only keep this for a short
